These tiny worlds soar on wings of knitted root and mycelium which sweep the gaseous, swirling, violent clouds—collecting and feeding upon toxins of every prismatic hue, birthing upon themselves a bubble of life like terrariums in the sky. I should have been happy here. I should have been at peace but grew weary of the brutality of my husband’s hunt and flew to a passing island to observe the rarest and most precious creatures to live within the mists of this angry world. In my wonder, one took pity on me, a pity born out of love. He granted me visions of the hunt I’d left behind, where my husband celebrated his kill with another woman.
