Who am I?

Thaddeus Thomas is the pen name I adopted when I returned to publishing so I could write, free of the judgment of those who know me. I say “returned” because in the 00’s, I was writing short stories that saw publication in magazines such as Fantasy, Abyss & Apex, and The Dead Mule School of Southern Literature. I grew frustrated in the early 10’s. A mystery novel I had written was with a small publishing house founded by friends, but I pulled the book and walked away from publishing for a few years. I am, however, a life-long writer. I had to write, whether I intended to publish or not, and write I did.

So I returned and published Detective, 26 AD and Steampunk Cleopatra.

After my first two books, my editor became ill. She needed brain surgery, and I decided to wait until she was well so she could edit my forthcoming books. The surgery went well, but her recovery took her away from editing. Now three years have passed. I have stories ready to go, but I’m starting over, looking to build an audience. I’ve chosen to do that here, chapter by chapter.

See you in the next story. Until then,

I’m Thaddeus Thomas.
